B&B Coaches
Ellie Barrows
Years at B&B: 1st year coaching at B&B, but I played with B&B for 2 years during my high school career. High School Attended: I went to Columbine High School from 2015-2019. Sports Participated in High School: I was a four-sport athlete in high school, and an 11-time varsity letterman. I played softball, basketball, track, and golf. I lettered in basketball and track all four years of my high school career. For softball I lettered my junior and senior year, and I lettered in golf my senior year. I was able to maintain a 3.45 GPA throughout my high school career and on multiple all conference and all state academic teams. College Attended (Degree): I received my Associates of Science degree in 2021 from Ellsworth Community College (ECC) in criminal justice, and my Bachelors of Science degree in 2023 from Nebraska Wesleyan University (NWU) in criminal justice in society. I was able to maintain a 4.2 GPA throughout my college career and was on multiple academic all-American teams and dean lists throughout my career. Current Profession: I work for Jeffco Schools Security as a campus supervisor at Columbine High School (CHS). I also am the junior varsity (JV) basketball coach and the head varsity assistant at CHS. In addition, I am a private skills coach for basketball through an agency called Coach Up. Basketball Accomplishments / Achievements (Player): In high school I was a 3-time all-conference team player and held the record in three pointers at CHS with 101. I was able to help lead Columbine to three sweet 16 appearances in our playoff runs from my sophomore-senior year. Plus, I had many career buzzer beaters against rivals Chatfield HS and Dakota Ridge HS throughout my career. Then, I signed to play basketball at ECC in Iowa Falls, Iowa. At ECC I started every single game of my career. My biggest achievements at the junior college level, not including my COVID season, would be the following: holding the record for most 3’s in a game with 9, most 3’s in a season 82, and 8th in all season field goals made at 136. If we counted my COVID season I would hold the most career 3’s at Ellsworth with 132 and 4th in all time field goal leaders at 216. I was highly recruited at ECC being one of the top 13 shooters in the whole country, and for helping my junior college reach its first win in two seasons. After that, I transferred to NWU, and played well there averaging the most points my senior year with 15 a game and scored the highest points that season with 27. Plus, I managed to finish my career with a 3-point percentage at 62% the highest on record at NWU. Coaching Experience: I started off at Bear Creek High School (BCHS) as a freshman assistant for the girls’ team last summer, and then in September I switched over to be the CHS JV assistant for their girls' program. In November I got promoted to being the head JV girls' basketball coach and helped girls that have never played basketball before turn into some little hoopers. At the end of this season was when I got promoted being the varsity assistant for Columbine’s program. My varsity assistant duties at Columbine include being in charge of all out of bound's calls, helping coordinate offensive sets we are running, and enhancing our girl's offensive skill set. When I am not busy coaching high school or club basketball, I am doing private lessons all over the Denver metro area for boys and girls from ages 9-18. This has been an aspect of coaching that I have really enjoyed since I moved back home last May. Hobbies & Interest: When I am not working security or coaching you can probably still catch me being the gym rat I was born to be. I really enjoy working out and watching my Denver sports teams, but I also like to hang out with my family or friends on the weekends if I have a free moment by doing game nights, catching a concert, or being outdoors. Most of my friends are out of state now from college, so I enjoy traveling to other states that they are located in to catch up with them. So far, I have been to Nebraska, Tennessee, Texas, and California this year which has been good vacations for me from 60–80-hour work weeks. Personal (Married, Kids, Grandpa, etc…): I enjoy being the middle sister of four siblings. I have an older sister and older brother that are 25, a younger sister who is 20, and a younger brother who is 14. I am very close with my family and enjoy being a daughter, granddaughter, and the new role of being a sister in-law this year.
